Wedding Bell Blues

Beth McKenzie returns with old friends from the first novel and some new acquaintances (spoiler: some of them don’t last long) for more murder, mystery, menagerie and marriage (maybe) in Littleboro, NC.

Crazy Reba lands in jail, Robert Redford runs off, and passers-through cause trouble while the First Annual Green Bean Festival gets underway. Of course Beth is in the middle of everything, all while trying to nurture her blooming romance.

“Ruth Moose is at it again, using her considerable wit and humor to chronicle the lives of her small town Southerners, Wedding Bell Blues is a worthy successor to Doing It at the Dixie Dew.”

FEATURE: A Day in the Life of Verna Crowell by Ruth Moose

Verna Crowell and her pet rabbit live next door to the newly opened Dixie Dew Bed and Breakfast. She and the rabbit (named Robert Redford, Verna figured the rabbit was as close to the actor as she’d ever get) do more to confuse B&B owner Beth’s search for the killer of the inn’s first guest than help. Maybe because Verna’s often more than a little confused herself, and because the rabbit is, um, a rabbit.

You think living with Robert Redford is easy. Well, it ain’t.”

Another “Day in the Life of Verna” will appear in the August, 2016 issue
